Today, I am taking a break from my own personal accomplishments in school which I am striving to complete by the end of this term. I enjoy writing and researching. The reason I am doing my senior project electively is because I want personal accomplishment and I find enjoyment in it. I inherit the drive, ambition, and personal devotion to life and work enjoyment to my mother. In addition, I am going to visit my family today, which I have found is a high priority in my life. I would do nearly anything for my family and I want to have a large family of my own. I imagine the end of my life when I'll be looking back on my decisions, and I always see family as the most fulfilling. I inherited this from my father. Today, I will read for enjoyment, see family, work towards my goal of graduating, and see the big picture of my life. Heading towards graduation does induce an epiphany of sorts, a revelation of one's own flaws, strengths, desires, and values. I know for myself, I wish to always know I did my best, didn't cheat, and earned my way with my integrity. If I feel like I truly earned my personal accomplishments, I can enjoy them and find the wisdom in them and share them with my family.

Often times wealth is a big value with family and extended family, which I absolutely do not hold as a high priority. I believe if you are doing what you love and being true to your own mission in life (integrity), you will be taken care of. I don't need a lot, enough to get by and every once and a while spoil myself, but it is never those moments that I look back on like I do with family. They fade to the background really. My own path up until now has been about listening to others, which I have never been particularly good at. However, it is a goal I still pursue and see myself improving at all the time. Old habits I can shake if I see them for what they are and discard them for the people I love. I am a determined person and I would like to say that "Nothing stands in the way of my goals!" However, I most often find I stand in the way of my own goals when I'm self-destructive and self-sabotaging. I think every once in a while I lose perspective, I need to clear my head and step back from my life. I need moments to see the big picture, and once I do, I feel much more confident about my life path.
